Sexual Gender based Violence Prevention with Farrah
I am a Sexual Gender based Violence (SGBV) prevention coordinator. I am a qualified Sexual Violence Liason Officer and am especially passionate about higher education providers role in preentive action, as well as reactionary measures.
I first got involved with SUs whilst studying at the University of Roehampton and went on to be President of the RSU from 2020-2022. In that time I threw myself into all things sexual education and gender equality related: from running Sexual Health Advice and Guidance (S.H.A.G) weeks to implementing free sustainable period products within all toilets across campus.
I now work part-time leading SOAS SUs Enough is Enough project, training students to deliver consent workshops, and running regular support groups and SVLO support for SGBV survivors. I’m looking to develop SGBV preventative projects across institutions to increase its implementation within higher education, as well as support ongoing work through advice and knowledge sharing.
