“I worked with Ollie in my capacity as Welfare Officer at Leeds Beckett Students’ Union. Having not worked with a mentor before, I wasn’t sure what to expect but Ollie’s advice and guidance wholeheartedly shaped my approach to my work as a sabbatical officer, particularly around developing a strategy to lobby the University to adopt a better approach to tackling mental ill health for students. He also gave me invaluable advice on our campaign on suicide prevention, which ensured we took a sensitive and informed approach that still made an impact.
