🎯Creating Positive Change: Campaigning 101 to Expert in One Day
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explain the core principles of impactful student-led campaigning, including power mapping and strategy design
- Identify the difference between awareness-raising, influencing, and organising tactics
- Develop a campaign plan with clear objectives, messaging, stakeholders, and timelines
- Analyse risks and opportunities to maximise influence within the SU and wider institution
- Reflect on previous SU campaigns to draw lessons and avoid common pitfalls
- This training showcases our tried and tested LUCIE campaigning model
- We also do a residential model for this training that goes into depth for officers and staff about how our LUCIE model can operationally work in creating positive change for your students. (email hey@alkhemy.org.uk to discuss a bespoke package)
☕#SabbCare: Being a Sabb and Looking After Yourself
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Recognise the unique emotional and professional demands of being an elected officer
- Apply practical tools for boundary-setting, managing energy, and avoiding burnout
- Explore techniques for self-compassion, identity maintenance, and peer support
- Identify internal and external support structures available to sabbatical officers
- Create a personalised wellbeing action plan for the year ahead
🌱 Organising and Empowering Students to Make Change: Leading to Activate Your Grassroots
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the distinction between leading for students and leading with students
- Apply community organising techniques to mobilise and sustain student-led action
- Identify and develop new student leaders within your networks
- Use storytelling and shared purpose to strengthen participation and belonging
- Design an engagement plan that supports grassroots activity beyond your term of office
🤝Making the Most of Your Time and Working Effectively with Staff
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Prioritise goals using tools like the Eisenhower Matrix or SMART objectives
- Understand the dynamics of working within a staff-led organisation as a student leader
- Build effective, respectful, and mutually accountable relationships with SU and university staff
- Communicate your vision in ways that inspire buy-in and action
- Navigate common tensions between autonomy and collaboration
🧩Team Building: Creating an Effective Team Dynamic
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify your personal working style and those of your team members
- Understand the stages of team development and how to support team cohesion
- Use practical tools for giving feedback, resolving conflict, and celebrating success
- Co-create team norms and values that foster trust, respect, and shared accountability
- Reflect on how identity, privilege, and power dynamics shape team interactions
🛠️Getting Things Done: Practical Workshops
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Apply project management tools to priority campaigns or projects
- Set realistic goals and track progress through reflection and task management
- Identify barriers to implementation and strategies to overcome them
- Engage stakeholders effectively to build momentum and visibility
- Share peer tips, templates, and resources for managing officer workloads

1 day course £485 plus VAT per SU . A full day of training, can be delivered in two half days online
2 day course £825 plus VAT per SU. Two full days of training, can be delivered as four half day sessions online
