How can I be an activist about this?
Support and development for campaigners and campaigning organisations working to create change. Practical, experienced-led, and built around a campaigning method that puts measurable outcomes first.
A campaign is judged by what it changes, not by how visible it was along the way.
Whether you lead a campaigning organisation or run campaigns as part of a wider role, the work asks a lot of you. You hold the strategy, the people, the messaging, the relationships, the moments of pressure, and the long stretches in between when nothing seems to be moving. You are doing it for reasons that matter.
Alkhemy supports campaigners and campaigning organisations to do that work better. Through training that builds capability inside teams, online programmes that build capability in individuals, and blended coaching and mentoring for people running campaigns. All three are grounded in the LUCIE model, our campaigning method, and in the experience of running campaigns in difficult environments for nearly twenty years.
Built for teams. Built for individuals.
Whichever route you take, the underlying method is the same. The shape of the support adapts to who is in front of us.

The LUCIE Model
A campaigning model for anyone working to create change
Gather evidence, data, testimony and lived experience from the people most affected. Understand what is actually happening before deciding what to do about it.
Move beyond symptoms to causes. Understand how the issue works, who is affected, who holds power, and where the levers for change sit.
Define the change you want to see and build a theory of change. A clear pathway from the situation as it is to the situation as you want it to be.
Design and deliver tactics that are deliberately subordinate to the strategy. Choose deliberately across the spectrum from collaborative to confrontational.
Measure outcomes, not just outputs. Did the decision-maker move? Did the policy change? Are the lives of those you set out to help materially better?

Blended coaching and mentoring
Running a campaign is often a lonely job, particularly when you are the one holding the strategy in your head. Alkhemy offers one-to-one support for individuals doing the work: a confidential thinking space, practical tools, and a sounding board with the experience to challenge you where it counts.
Sessions combine coaching and mentoring. Coaching to help you think more clearly about what you are facing. Mentoring when the situation calls for someone who has been there and can tell you what tends to happen next.
There is no fixed programme. The shape, frequency, and length of the support are agreed with you at the start, based on what you actually need. Pricing varies accordingly, and we’ll work that out together in the initial conversation.
One-to-one sessions
Regular sessions with Ollie, focused on the campaign you are running and the decisions you are weighing. Confidential, structured, and shaped around your pace.
Practical tools and frameworks
Resources drawn from years of campaigning work, including the LUCIE method, power mapping, message development, and stakeholder strategy.
Career and capability development
Support for campaigners thinking about the long arc of their work, not just the current campaign. Growth, confidence, and the questions about what comes next.
Sector-aware expertise
Ollie has run campaigns and supported campaigners in education, charity, and public sector settings for nearly twenty years. You do not have to explain the context before you can get to the issue.
I’ve had the privilege of being coached by Ollie from Alkhemy over the past few challenging months, and I genuinely can’t recommend the experience highly enough. From our very first session, Ollie created a space where I felt comfortable, supported, and truly heard. He’s been an incredible sounding board and a safe space to explore thoughts and challenges without judgment. What I’ve valued most is Ollie’s ability to gently guide my reflections and help me see situations from new perspectives. His insight and calm approach have made a real difference in how I process and respond to what’s going on around me.

Ollie Kasper-Hope
Ollie is the co-founder of Alkhemy, the family-run organisation behind the training, online programmes, and individual support on this page. He has spent nearly twenty years running and supporting campaigns, mostly in education and the charity sector, and has designed the LUCIE method through that work.
Alkhemy is built around the idea that the people who do hard, public-facing change work deserve serious support and proper craft, not motivational platitudes. The work here reflects that. Direct, sector-aware, built on the assumption that you already know your stuff and are looking for the kind of help that takes you further.
